Jewel Cave is one of the southern-most caves, only a short drive north from Augusta. It is the largest open-to-the-public cave in WA. It is named after the Jewel Casket, a small chamber in the lower sections of the cave.

View a MapThis award winning jewel cave is WA largest show cave and is a must see when visiting the area! There are three chambers within this spectularly beautiful cave system.
You will see a large variety of nature’s most exquisite and delicate rock formations including world record straws, helectites, stalagmites, stalactites, flow stone, fossils, coral and more. You can take photographs and experience a full black out! It is a real treat for your senses, combining nature’s wonder with creative lighting and well worth experiencing!
Entry to the cave itself is via 250 steps and is surrounded by gorgeous Karri forest. Entry to the Jewel Cave Centre is via Caves Road, 38 kilometres south of Margaret River and 12 kilometres north of Augusta.
The guided tours last for one hour and are very informative. Tours leave every half an hour starting at 9.30am and ending at 3.30pm and the guides are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. There usually needs to be a minimum of 2 people for the tour to run. These tours are family friendly and the guides are kind and encouraging to children.
It is recommended to book the tour in advance and this cave tour can be part of a tourism package, which is great value!
After your underground experience, meander through the Karri Bush Trail where you can to find the hole in the ground where the cave was first discovered.
DRESS: All caves will be colder than above ground. It is good to have an extra layer to provide warmth and bring water.
Within the Jewel Caves Centre you can: visit the Caves, walk the Karri Bush Trail, buy items in the Gift Shop, learn more at the Interpretive Centre and enjoy light refreshments at the Cafe.

Ticket Prices
You can purchase a discount package ticket to visit both Jewel Cave and Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. Open every day except for Christmas Day.
